At Colorado Family Doula, we know that having a baby is a huge step in life. We want you to know who we are and how our experience and education can help make giving birth more comfortable for you.
I am Rebekah Meurer, certified labor birth doula and childbirth educator through CAPPA. I attended my first birth at the age of sixteen (my beautiful niece) and now have three wonderful children of my own. As a certified labor and birth doula, I have been assisting families formally since 2009. As a certified childbirth educator, I also teach childbirth classes at one of Colorado’s premier hospitals. To retain my certifications and best serve my clients, I also take continuing education classes.
Pure births to natural births, epidural births, cesareans, breech births and twin births, I have assisted and worked with families at the following locations:
Sky Ridge Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, Rose Medical Center, Exempla Saint Joesph Hospital, Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Mountain Midwifery Center of Colorado, Denver Health, Littleton Adventist Hospital, Parker Adventist Hospital, Lutheran Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and home.
I am also a parent educator at Sky Ridge Medical Center and teach private classes as well.
My passion for being a doula has also extended into developing online childbirth preparation classes and labor guidance for pregnant women and their partners across the world. With the encouragement of my husband and children, Ready4Birth was created and designed as an ongoing way to educate, comfort and support families. This program is continuously updated to stay current and incorporate the latest research while reflecting the wisdom and the experience of all of our mothers, sisters and friends.
I strongly believe in and support all families, no matter how they are designed. My focus is to uplift women, encourage them and strengthen them through their journey of pregnancy, labor, birth and the immediate postpartum period. I also feel it’s important to educate fathers, partners and support team members which is a key to keeping a mother safe throughout a very vulnerable time.
Pregnancy, labor and birth should not be feared, but honored as a beautiful right of transition from womanhood into motherhood and for the partner into parenthood!
I have been married to my husband Michael for over 20 years. We both grew up on hobby farms in Wisconsin and now reside in Colorado with our two boys and one daughter. Our family enjoys the great outdoors, including hiking, fishing and exploring this amazing state we live in.
